Left for Bali on the 16th of sept took the MRT to the airport couldn't get a direct flight so we had to fly to Jakarta which took 1 1/2 hours when we got the our flight to Bali wasn't for another 3 hours. The airport must of been the worst in the world Bristol was a mazing conpared!!!! we were the only ones waiting in the departure lounge we just stayed in there as we had already been around the one shop they had. Arrived at Bali at 11:30pm with nowhere to stay got in a taxi and asked him to ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia himandherArrived into Dempasar, after 5 hour flight from Brisbane. Got a taxi through the very busy, traffic jammed streets to Poppies Lane (one of the market alleys just off Kuta beach). No accommodation booked so spent an hour or so wandering the alleys looking for somewhere reasonable, picking are slim as the receptionists make up prices as they go along... Fianlly found Balisasndy cottages at bottom of Poppies Lane 2, got huge en-suiteroom with balcony so pretty pleased. In afternoon had wander ar...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia kieranandclaireSeptember 23rd: I took a bemo from Sanur to Kuta and after I checked some hotels i took a room in the Bali Sandy hotel. Fine room for 25000 rp per night, including breakfast. I bought some RL polo's at Mata Hari's and lied on the beach for some hours. Fine beach but more crowdy than the one in Sanur. A lot of Aussies with surfboards are surfing on the high waves. There are also a lot of fastfood restaurants such as KFC and MacDonalds. September 24th:about the same as the day before. September...

... I always stay at Poppies Lane 2 if i go to Bali. You can find a lot of budget hotel here. And you can find all backpacker here from so many countries, as usual most of them is Australian. This place is very strategic, between Kuta Beach and Legian Street. If you wanna know about Bali, you can ask me..
We only had to teach two classes today: one at 7:30 and one at 9:30. Since there were four of us, we could split up the classes: two teachers for each one would be plenty. Since Miryam and Ed took the later class the day before, we switched today. Allowing Suzanne and me to sleep in a bit. But to tell the truth, I was up early enough for the first and would have preferred that one also. Running as late as 7:30 is cutting it close to not being able to go at all: the sun is ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia snclark8Let's skip the (mostly) unpleasant memories of Gili T. and move straight on to Kuta. Kuta is in the southwestern part of Bali. It is the Mallorca for Australiens. The Southeast Asian version of Ballermann.
Hundreds of pubs, clubs and shops line the narrow streets. You can get Gucci, Versage, Quicksilver, name it, they got it. All fake of course. One Billabong shop on every street corner, while inbetween hundreds of smaller shops sell sunglasses, Bintang (the local beer) shirts and ...
... of this, also on another large tree there was a very huge fruit hanging ,i asked what if it dropped on someones head the reply came back, big headache, there were two hot spring pools, in which one of them people were swimming to the individual springs & taking their offerings, the other all boys were swimming & having fun (wonder how i knew they were boys) also on the end it was like an extension where the women were washing clothes, a sign stated ...
lake bralan, Bali, Indonesia minimanor... I want. I was stumped on how to celebrate my 40th. I decided to not think too much about it and let things roll. As always, something does and this is how my day went down. We had passes to a free-flow happy hour (my favorite kind) at Ocean Beach Club. It has a great outdoor venue which features nightly dancers/performers, good DJ music and too top it off dance floor in the middle of their ...
Kuta, Bali, Indonesia eddieandlynn... a sanctuary right on the edge of town where you can go hang out with the macaque monkeys. They accost you before you even get into the sanctuary...I guess they don't realize there are boundaries around their territory...and Lisa has to give up her ice cream cone to a demanding monkey who is not about to be shaken off without some treat. Have you ever tried to shake a monkey off of you? With those four limbs and a tail...and a very ...
Ubud, Bali, Indonesia rawhideone... most wonderful thing about this restaurant for two travelers weary of soggy fish and chips for $12 a plate was the prices! We had to check the prices a few times to make sure that we were not deceived that mains at this fancy restaurant were $3 and beers $1.30 (the combination of reverse sticker shock and the Indonesian Rupia being 10000 to the dollar was a dubbly whammy in currency conversion confusion). This level of value was to delight us for the entire time we were in ...
