... rain. I didn't realize it, but there is still Balinese royalty, though I'm not exactly sure how that works. They do come out for special occasions or religious ceremonies. I also caught up on my laundry, washing over half of what I brought, all for $2. Almost every day, I had a $5-6 massage. Who could resist at those prices?

With the photos, there is a cool video you should watch - two fruit bats getting affectionate with me. Reminded me of ...

... in Denpasar took a while but we came back around 9.30 and had dinner at a restaurant across the road from our resort. We then had to go back to the doctor near Kuta on the following day with the scan.

... wave. And although pretty difficult for newbies like us we could still manage to catch a few but it was also pretty cool just watching the more experienced guys riding them. After a day on the waves we hit the town and after dinner straight to Bar street. Bar street was a hectic Magaluff style pumping street full of bars and clubs and packed with not only 18-30s but also many older, rather larger, very much louder, completely ****** up Aussies. Great fun. The next day and ...

... bank-breaking £3/day, the tank was empty so we filled it for 75p!! We could get used to this. We took ourselves to the Tegalalang rice terraces, sadly now another tourist trap, but offering really stunning scenery. We stopped for lunch in a café overlooking the terraces and the locals at work – very hard labour, especially in the heat. Having the scooter was great, and Dan was very competent – Zoe not so much, and she decided she was happier holding on at the ...
