... was the first part of the adventure and was obviously supposed to get us ready for things to come. Mark had to tell the driver, rather sternly, that we were quite early for our flight in the hope he would start to drive on the correct side of the road! ... crowded city was my little hotel. The Ida hotel. It looked like walking into a monastery. The kind man at reception had graciously waited up for me and after a quick check in lead me to my room. My balcony is overlooking the pool and as I sit here I realize their is no ambient nose, just the rustling wind of the trees, and the effect is instantly peaceful. Although, this could be the jet lag as well. But I'm here, I've made it and I cannot wait to see what the next few weeks ...
Tuesday I hit up the local markets in Denpasar and was sorry I did. The term 'local' should have been a good indicator to stay away. I was the only tourist in that place and stuck out like a sore thumb. Once they saw my baby blues it was game over. I'll be sure to go back there..umm, NEVER.
