... hours of travel, we finally managed to get to The Hague. Our first stop is the Mauritshuis, which is a really exceptional collection of Golden Age (that is 16-17th century) art from the Netherlands (you know, Rembrandts, Vermeers, that kinda stuff). It was really crowded (my guess is that there was a tour bus full of elderly Germans who had come in ahead of us), but otherwise really lovely. We took advantage of their wifi to read up on ...

... stop tour so we couldn't study each one. One thing I did notice though was all the carpets were really hard to identify which country was which.... All but one... You guessed it the USA has it's flag decorating its square. I was shocked that in Amsterdam people didn't have last names until the 18th century. Bonaparte declared that everyone had to have a surname so that is why a lot of Dutch people have silly last names... Or that's what they say at least! Kor informed us ...

I will certainly be headed back to Holland one of the weekends this Spring, and will then take a bunch more pictures. But for now, enjoy the pics and thanks for reading the blog!

God's blessings,

Today we rode into Amsterdam! After a nice breakfast of fruit, jam and croissants, meat for Paul and tea for me we were on our way. This was at about 11am. The weather today wasn't as pleasant as yesterday. It was a little colder and we had a bit of a head wind. It was still an enjoyable 70km ride. I think that's because the bicycle routes are in such great condition. The scenery for the first half of the trip was much the same as yesterday. Lots of fields of corn and very ...

After a long morning or traveling from Paris to Amsterdam we stopped in the train station for a pit stop of bathroom breaks and a coffee. The AMSTERDAM ADVENTURE BEGINS! Once are if in the station bathrooms we were shocked to see it cost .50euro to use the bathroom, public restrooms that cost (everywhere in Amsterdam was like this). We then went to Starbucks where we ordered told them our names and after receiving our drinks we noticed they wrote down our names ...
