... royal family, so it was also interesting to see the architecture. I really liked that approach, as it wouldn't have been all that interesting to see the palace on its own (I've now been in a lot of 19th century style palace interiors, and I never thought they were that interesting to start with), but as a setting for a museum about something else it was nice.

After this, we headed to the train station and on to Delft.

... hole through my ear :) Unfortunately though, today was the end of contiki, and I said goodbye to my contiki family :( there was lots of hugs all around and a few tears aswell, but its time to start our new Irish adventure before heading back to Australian soil! I'm so glad to have met all these people, and am now even more keen to visit their home countries and for them to visit ...

... for a pub crawl, and the guy was really rude about it. Our Canadian friends weren't drinking by that stage, and were told if try didn't buy something to drink they'd be kicked out... I don't know why this place was part of the pub crawl, they were just dodgy and rude! ... of Amsterdam. Riding a bicycle has many clear advantages as far as minimising traffic and pollution problems. However, they seem to be creating an environmental problem of their own.
Whilst it is common-place to park one's bike along any park fence, it would seem that some riders choose not to return to their parked bike if they no longer have a use for it. This has resulted in Amsterdam having 3 million bikes for 1 ...
