    ... hope the photos do it justice. After an enormous day in the car we camped just outside Fray Jorge.

    The next day we continued south to Santiago, it was a much clearer day than on the way up so we got great views of the coastline and the vast wind farms. We arrived safely back into Santiago in the afternoon, it felt like coming home. We both really love the city of Santiago.

    ... night in Chile took us on a 18 hour overnight bus, heading South towards the capital Santiago. We thought we would break the 23 hour journey to Santiago up by stopping mid way down at the beach town of La Serena. When we arrived in La Serena however it wasn't quite the beach setting we had imagined, with the city being at least a half hour walk from the beach.     ... the room, which was nice because you could actually shut the door to shower and get dressed, as opposed to hopping on one foot behind a shower curtain trying to pull up your pants and inevitably getting them wet.

    A side note: we were talking about hostels and privacy with some people in this hostel and a guy told a funny story. He was in a hostel that had two showers side by side with a wall between them, but they shared the same shower curtain. ...
