... Serena is bigger than what we thought it would be. Checked into a small family run hostal with clean and comfortable rooms and very average private bathroom. The people spoke no English but were very friendly. We went for a walk around town for dinner but it was absolutely dead - everything was closed until we stumbled across a café/diner. ... hostel for the 2 Danish girls ( Kimmie and Mille) to wake up since they had arrived on a bus 24 hrs earlier. I was given instant Nescafe coffee and cookies for breakfast. As I was waiting for them, a Belgium guy (Jonas) that I had met in the Valparaiso hostel walked into the lounge. I knew he was heading in the same direction, but he had hitchhiked up to La Serena a few days earlier so I wasn't sure where he was in his travels. ...
