... attempted to steal a second bag, resulting in a cracked window and a change of bus. We thought Chile was supposed to be safer, but we quickly learned that scams are much more prevalent here! La Serena is a university beach town and our arrival coincided with end of semester – which means 1 thing…PARTY!! We had a great night with all the students in a festival setting, tents in a field with loads of music and dancing.

Still not back to normal Dave went to see ...

... lots of very poor people. While this is certainly something we needed to see, it’s off the bucket list and we’re not likely to return to any of the cities we’ve visited on the west coast side.

Very pale. Rather metallic nose and green notes. Very sweet on the palate with little acid to counterbalance. Disappointing as with more acid, this would be delightful.

The tasting was odd as they are clearly not set up for this. There were not enough chairs for us to sit down and we even had to share glasses! The glassed were also Paris goblets! Out translator did a good job as the lady who took us round did ...
