    Our Captain described Mamaris as having one of the seven best natural harbours in the world. He was right - a circular enclosed bay, surrounded by treed mountains, a fjord. Due to its beauty, and sheltered anchorage, it is the winter home for many Mediterranean sailing ships. Beautiful sailboats from all over the world, plus many mahogany sailboats in the Turkish style (high pointed bows).
