    We went for lunch and outside the restaurant, we were disheartened to see a small monkey chained to a tree. There were a few birds kept in cages, including peacocks, a cockatoo, a couple of parrots, and a cockatiel. Jack was very upset, and he couldn't believe that the restaurant would do this. I guess anything to bring the tourists in.

    ... because they can be seen climbing on the nearby shops. There were lots of babies around when I visited which led to some very cute photo opportunities. But be warned! Don't get too close! I saw at least three tourists being bitten by monkeys in the first ten minutes. There is evidence that monkeys are genetically closely related to Luis Suarez.

This compound farms pigs so we were able to see some large adult pigs used for breeding, as well as little piglets as young as a week old. In this compound we saw an elderly woman cutting bamboo to be used for various things as well as a younger woman mashing spices to make a satay.
