Unfortunately I am getting very close to finishing my book and I seriously doubt I will be able to find the 2nd part of the trilogy here in Lithuania. Thinking of finding something else to read, I wandered to the Vilnius University bookshop but it was closed on Sundays. Something to do tomorrow. Parked the bus and walked past some souvenir shops and restaurants to the causeway linking the mainland to the castle. It had been largely destroyed but the Soviets actually did most of the reconstruction. Only 20% of the castle is original. Paid a camera fee [4], again well worth it.

... with all the stuffed animals (Cat felt right at home) as well as the armament rooms with their shields and breast plates. We crossed the bridge back to the peninsula and hired a rowing boat to tour around the island and Lake Galve. ... little restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was called Lokus steakhouse. We had the choice from 3 different set meals. The food was excellent - I had an entree of chicken salad, followed by steak in a wine sauce (beautifully cooked and very tender). Dessert was ice cream with cherry sauce. The wine I had was a German Riesling. The old town is very interesting and we look forward to exploring further ...
