... mushroom. OR, shave off one side of your hair, and have a long emo fringe that covers your face. (These styles were very popular at the hairdresser I went to (where no one spoke English) so as you can imagine, I was very nervous. But coming out looking like I just come from a preppy private school in the English Countryside is better. Phew way to dodge a bullet Peter J.)
... meal cost 32 yuan. When I compare it to American prices, it is less than $5 so I should be fine with that. But to compare it to China meal prices it is quite expensive.
As a bonus I am adding some KFC pictures. This is taken in Dalian and my western friends call it the KFC church. Because ... it looks like a Church. None of the others look like this one. So, I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy...

The next morning I went to a café to use the wireless, then walked downtown. On the way, I decided Dalian was a bit too hot, icky and modern for my liking. Worse, the air was filthy, so when I got to the bus station, I bought tickets to Dandong, for the next day, then headed out to Beichuidao, supposedly one of Dalian’s better beaches. The drive out there was actually pretty nice, but the beach itself was crowded with people and trash and the ...
... I can go. My rule of thumb has been ¼ the price for some things but sometimes I am just too embarrassed to offer something that low. I figure I saved 25 rmb and they made money. So we should both be happy. It is fun to do. Another friend wants to buy a camera. I should go with her and see if we can get one for ½ the price. I think that would be in her price range.

I gave in to two vices today... melted cheese and a massage.
Kirsty organized for us to go to this little place in Jinshitan for a message, and I was really excited. For Y80, we would get pampered for nearly an hour—one of the strongest motivations to moving to China.
We walked there after school, and I wasn't totally sure what to expect. The lady led us to this backroom that was decorated... I am trying ...

He picked up his calculator and typed in 60 x 15... he wanted Y60 PER shirt, not total. The Y900 was more than our entire t-shirt and printing budget, the other student had gotten the first 30 shirts for less than Y180, I was mad. We tried our best to argue that we had agreed to Y60 we were even willing to pay a little more, but to absolutely no avail, and we ended up walking away empty handed. Here I thought I was good at negotiating.

It is Heidi first full day of teaching, and we are launching our Stock Market Game. The premise is simple, randomly handout six cards to every student that is either $100 or a stock (A,B,C,D) explain to them the goal of the game is to amass the most wealth that they can. It works best with two people, because one person can be in charge of randomly changing the price of stocks (all going up) and the other can be the bank, loaning out $1000 for every $100 of insurance ...
Wanli, Liaoning Province, China aszliross... head phlegm" in your pocket. I saw a guy blow his nose into a sidewall garbage container the other day, and didn't waste a drop. I mean he expelled the wad in a package and at a rate that hit the target of a round hole in the wall. Like Michael Jordan. Since crowds are everywhere and there is often no place for refuge, you tend to be defensive on the sidewalk in case your forward neighbor decides its time to unload. Like a heavy neutrino, it could be a significant mass.
Dalian, China nietsreuef... t really classes as such...just levels of comfort: hard seats, soft seats, hard sleepers, and soft sleepers. i was on a hard sleeper train. it was clean and on time and all around very comfortable. the train station in beijing was a zoo...but once i gave into it, it was a fairly orderly zoo. i found my platform, train, car, and bunk without too much difficulty. except for the city names, the train tickets are entirely in chinese. so it was initially difficult to tell ...
