We travelled back from Xiahe in the morning to catch an overnight train from Lanzhou to Dunhuang. We had a long afternoon to explore before our train so we had time to check out the White Cloud Temple and some water wheels across from the temple. White Cloud Temple is a Taoist Temple and meant to have some serious fortune tellers.

We traveled to Huining county, in Gansu province and continued our interviews with local villagers. It was a great location to collect data, as it was highly arid, as compared to the villages we'd been in the previous weeks. There are numerous farmers who rely solely on rainwater collection for their water (for both domestic and agricultural uses!).

So once again I found myself peddling past happy smiling farmers whose lives are spent in their fields and are more than happy to offer a huge smile and wave followed by a loud HELLOW! Hey Hey and a Big G'Day toya Whilst eating dinner I watched several things that amused me There was a huge crowd across the road watching this guy with his portable KTV thing. The stupid thing was, he was in the middle of the road singing and cars and buses were beeping him and had to try find a way around him. It was unbelievable the traffic chaos he caused. Strangely the crowd loved him and gave him heaps of money ...
