We went into a display village showing how people lived in early times the wall were made of stone and a thatched roof. A family of 14 lived in one of the houses and another was occupied till 1957. Stayed at Portree at a B&B for the night. We visited the local supermarket again for tea they have a great selection of readymade ...

I, on the other hand, spent the Summer listening to Nate Dogg and Warren G on a loop whilst packing boxes of new school supplies at Grampian regional council's purchasing warehouse in order to make a bit of cash for uni. ... It was nice to hear their voices and Fer said it was nice to hear our 'American accent'. Having a good time with them almost made us forget about the car. Blah.
We will wake up early tomorrow and drive to Edinburgh to find out how much we are going to get ripped off. Maybe we will get lucky.

The university is very handsome - gosh the Brits do good old buildings! - but all of Glasgow is blackened by decades of soot which rather spoils the look. Or does it? I feel that Glasgow almost defines itself as "gritty" - the industrial past is constantly there, and something Glaswegians seem rather proud of, certainly nothing to be hidden. If it means their pretty sandstone gothic spires are blackened and grimy, well, so be it.
