... as well.
The bathroom was beautiful too!
There are so many levels here! And so many pools and waterfalls. It's hard to describe everything I saw with words! There are two sandy beaches. One of them has a couple of hanging chairs. I even took a nap in one!
Then, you go down the stairs to the rocks and the water. We kayaked and my husband snorkeled. Every single day I saw turtle after turtle after turtle ...
... I think one of the girls working there wants me to leave and she's probably thinking that getting a SIM card should be the last thing I should be doing tody and going to see a doctor would be much more beneficial. Later on I see a lizard in my apartment, seriously, a lizard. That would never happen in Chicago. I would rather have a lizard then one of the those nasty as$ centipede thingys though. Hempen and I had one of those ...
Buzios, Brazil merkdog4Last week I had enough of the whole Xerem thing and went back to Ilha Grande for a couple of days. Martha went with me as she had enough of it as well. I am really interested in finding out if I can stay on Ilha Grande for a longer time after my volunteer job. It would be great if I could find some work there, even if it is just to cover the expenses. Anyway. We had the best weather in a long time and I was on the beach ...
Ilha Grande, Brazil vera_enjoylifeOk we admit it, we planned to stay in Rio for 1 week and we have been here for 1 month and still cannot bring ourselves to leave! We keep organising to book a bus to Florianopolis but stop at the last minute. We have met more friends here and have been treated like royalty the whole way. Met some locals in Santa Teresa and they offered to take us through the favellas. We caught ...

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil adisylAnd it got better! Looked out of the window and there was a street carnival immediately outside - a procession with dancers, singers and band. They threw t-shirts into the crowd and Keith put his cricketing skills to good use and got one - later a woman indicated to me that we should be in there, dancing! Keith tried to get photos but the Brazilians really know how to party and the movement blurred all the photos! Plus a fat man got in the way of the naked ones ...
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil keithandshelley... get at me. I'll never know. 'Turkey' is currently not one of the languages I speak. There was tons of food and a non-stop flow of beer and spirits. Dessert was just as amazing...pies, cake and ice cream a-plenty. The kids kept busy in the pool...even though the day was overcast and it was cooler in the mountains. I went horseback riding with the woman that interviewed me: Melissa. She has been riding horses all her life and was laughing at me cuz that was only ...

Rio de janeiro, Brazil riogirlsBrazil is world renowned for its beaches. With a coastline of 4,578 miles and beautiful weather nearly year-round, it's not surprising that the small town of Buzios near Rio de Janeiro is a phenomenal beachside destination. Buzios sits on a peninsula of twenty-two sparkling beaches where any day of the week you'll see beautiful people basking in the sun at popular spots or relaxing in the tranquil atmosphere at one of the peninsula's more secluded beaches. Buzios ...
Buzios, Brazil mikezura... size of the waterfall. We started our day with a 6 KM (12 KM round trip) hike through the forest/jungle. We saw some birds and a few animals. The trail ended at a small waterfall -- it was small by any standards, but it was a trickle compared to what we´d see later in the day. We were glad we started with that. After we completed that hike (about 2 hours), we took the park train to the biggest waterfall -- Devil´s something. It was a short walk from the train on a wide, metal ...
