... Apples were espaliered and took up all the available land - right down to the side of the road. Reminiscent of Bilpin and yet so different. Afterwards we stopped at Merano with its great ornate brewery called Forst. (We had a coffee!) The Passo Di Stelvio was a highlight - a fabulous route of tight hairpin turns. There happened to be a cycling marathon at the same time today. We don't understand how they can ...

    ... planning on having a
braai. Not to be since the moment the sun went behind the mountain the
temperature dropped below anything that is possible to braai in. The braai was
cancelled and we moved across to Stef’s house for an excellent cooked supper

... were able to warm up with a pot of Peppermint Tea and a bowl of tomato
soup. Awesome………… Bad luck though, we still needed to walk another 14 odd kms

hours, two blisters and sore legs made it a day to remember.

Needless to say it wasn’t too difficult to get to sleep that
    evening.

... as they were kind enough to allow us to use
the cable car to get to the top of the mountain first.

As always the scenery was stunning and even though we were
treated to a few drops of rain the excursion was great.

The afternoon was spent watching Stef hard at work teaching
people to kiteboard after which we did some shopping before going for supper at
    Stef’s house.

... br> plane for Zurich via Dubai. The trip to Dubai was uneventful but uncomfortable
since I was seated next to a gentleman with bad breath and an attitude that
found me fighting for the armrest for most of the trip.

After an exhausting trip I finally arrived in Dubai where I
had to wait for a further three and a half hours for my connecting flight to
    Zurich.
