... stunning coves and turquoise waters, up into the hills and pine plantations, through local villages and then back to the coast at Fethiye.

Staying at a hotel above the yacht marina and port which is huge and has some incredibly expensive and enormous yachts and motor launches, a lot of which are covered for winter. The population is about 80,000, and it's a big tourist spot for British people apparently, and obviously a prosperous and modern city.

While swimming I took the opportunity to properly wash the mud off from the mud bath and ...

... time in my life.

The bus system is easy to navigate paying a few lira to get downtown, a bustling area of of shopping and nightlife. I did the five island tour which was beautiful but I would have much rather taken a day trip to Rhodes Island. However, swimming in the dead sea (Oludeniz) and paragliding have to be one of my best experiences in Fethiye.

What beach??

A travel blog entry by graham_inwood on Sep 24, 2010

Well well, we are moving on from the dreadful Marmaris leaving the English and loud music behind. We caught a bus to Fethiye about 3 hours further down the coast, the scenery was amazing pine covered mountains going down to the sea. The buses are excellent, TV in the backs of the seats, Graham watched Quantum of Solace in Turkish, we also had waiter service with free tea /coffee/biscuits. We arrived in Fethiye at the ...
