Bad Hotel Überlingen

... Velo auf die Meiersalp gefahren und habe dort gecampt. Die Nacht war Sternenklar und die Temperaturen auch noch relativ hoch (ca. 5 Grad Celsius). Es wird deshalb bestimmt nicht meine letzte Testfahrt gewesen sein.

What nobody (really) thought to be possible, has been done. I arrive at 17:00h at the same place, where I started this journey the 30.4.2006 (click here) with the same vehicle, the same rider and complete the full scale world trip across all 5 continents happiest and well ...

... quick sites and then jumped back to Switzerland, crossed through Austria for an hour or so, and bam, were back in Germany, hehe....

Now I'm at Sebastian's brother's house, where we will go to sleep soon and visit München tomorrow...

... weren't too interested so they took Lincoln (who couldn't go with us) and we went to have a look. It was a rewarding visit. It is amazing to think how long ago some of those books and transcripts were written, and how well cared for they must be to remain in excellent condition. The library itself is breathtaking, with leather bound books lining the shelves, large windows (no doubt filtered), elaborate woodwork and staircases, and a muraled ceiling ...

We got off to a good start this morning and made our first stop in Winterthur. We walked around looking for the Old Town, and once we found it we walked around some more. We stopped for some street meat for the boys and checked out the cathedral. There are elaborate pipes ...

Just a day trip to see this old city. Lots of brightly painted buildings with ornate oriel windows. Most of the windows were carved with scenes or fancy designs, sometimes painted, sometimes both. Lots of fountains and statues. Found a chocolate shop and pigged out.

It's kind of funny - it's definitely an exception here, and people wonder about a bit, but it's accepted, and I don't think anyone thinks I'm too weird or anything. ... went upstairs to play pool with some German lads, leaving Jodi and me downstairs. She has a particular fondness for Aussies and Kiwis apparently, a generalisation I was happy to encourage. After a couple of hours of encouragement, the other girls came downstairs and we all walked back to the hostel, at about 0345. Jodi gave me her address in Mannheim where she is a tooth cleaner or something and invited me round when she finishes her holiday later this month.
