Last day on the slopes

... happy to start working again, now I was sure I had been going downhill because the walk back was certainly uphill. The lift was closed. I was frightened, not the impossimountain again, the wind was visibly whipping the snow up into the air at 45 degrees. I had that feeling of being able to feel my skull because it was so cold.

The next lift was open – phew! It was the only lift on the whole entire mountain that was open. Not being religious I tend ...

Snowboarding day 5 - Off Piste!

If however you find yourself falling over, albeit on the comfortable quilt of snow, it’s going to take a lot of energy to get back up, over and over again. In other news, while doing the jumps, I was struggling to find the confidence jumping off ramps. I know the cure for this: Hot chocolate and rum. As it happens, I wasn’t ready for such a drink. I blame the chocolate. After lunch I ...

Snowboarding day 2

A travel blog entry by don.vince on Jan 26, 2015

... Afterwards we got dinner at the hotel. The table across from us had a 12 people strong bowling team aged 50 to 90. These guys were doing a presentation by a flipchart and smiling all the time, we’ll have to make friends.

We decided to try out the ever so quiet seeming Irish bar. You go in, it’s visibly empty from the outside, not even a bar, then you go through the next door, it’s still pretty empty, ...
