... family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">Friday, May 2nd 5pm: I leave Zurich airport in the rain. My flight with Royal Air Maroc via Casablanca in Economy class (£240 return) was perfectly comfortable, provided generous leg room and the evening meal was excellent. Flight departures and arrivals were on schedule.
... like Casablanca or Marrakech) and no one ever bothers me when I walk around by myself. And at the same time nice examples of "culture" like that happen all the time. This weekend I plan to go to a hamaam with my host family. It's definitely a time to bond since all the women go in together and scrub each others' backs. A true Moroccan experience! So I'm keeping myself busy. I am in the process of setting up Arabic lessons but it seems that ...
... fed up of it. The offers Peran received for wife swaps and camel swaps got a bit tedious after a while, I must admit. They are also a culture that like to stare. The people can be super lovely though and very pleasant and are always very welcoming in their approach. Morocco was a great experience, but we have both said that we wouldn't go back. It was a more relaxed holiday than we imagined, and although renowned for surfing, the waves were never right for us to go in!
... sure she thought I was a harlot. I'm not gonna lie, my skin has been feeling dry lately so hopefully I'll get another rub down soon.
I have plenty other stories, such as getting lost for an hour and 45 minutes (totally normal though no matter which country I'm in), some casual butt touching on the bus (not my hands roaming, I promise), getting sick from the water (we all know what bodily functions I'm talking about), taking a taxi that decided to change ...
... there's something in the water, or maybe it was the heat. It was unbearable in the bathing room this morning. I think Moroccan weather has spoiled me. While I know, objectively, that it wasn't outrageously hot or humid this morning compared to how it probably is back home, I've been kind of miserable all day. I'm going to straight up die when I get back to Texas. The good news is that I'll be able to die in the comfort of air conditioning. Alhamdulillah.
