117/10 Moo 6, Bantai Ko Phangan, Thailand, 84280
We arrived at our previously booked hotel on the island of Koh Phangan at nearly 5:30 p.m. on the night of the Full Moon Party. Haad Rin, the home of the beach where the Full Moon party is located, is solely dedicated to catering to the whims of the thousands of young tourists that flock here each month for party, a great majority of which are Israeli. Nearly every restaurant has a full western and Israeli menu, complete with American favorites such as hamburgers ...
Ko Phangan, Surat Thani, Thailand seasiabound... will be doing an Ayurvedic dish in the morning too. Everything is vegetarian here and have only drunk water since being here and Thai food so feel very good (although constipated since the colonics!) I encountered a cobra and a preying mantis yesterday. The wildlife here is so different to what we are used to and so much bigger and noisier. I was watching a squirrel from my balcony yesterday morning and it was making the loudest noise and I was thinking our squirrels don't make ...
Ko Phangan, Thailand lizcap... scuba diving. After much persuasion Nia agreed, well was forced, into doing a dive with the possibility of seeing sharks and Turtles, but unfortunately we did not see any, just lots of coral and fish, including 2 lion fish. Nia had some problems equalising on the first dive, which was made slightly harder as we were floated over by a speed boat when we were about 1 foot under, luckily the propeller was not close enough to mince us!!!
From Phi Phi we made our way over ...
... low tables, with bob Marley playing on the sterio (very good music playing at all times while we where here), the whole room had a very harmonious feel to it!
We were tempted to stay here a few days, but we prefered not to share our living space with all the creatures of the jungle!!!!!!!!
So back up the hill with the bags!!!!!
... of Brits on gap years all finding themselves!! Anyway went out on the beach which was ok music was rubbish but really good fun people watching! Andrew got a tattoo and i was very close to getting one as well, very high on the cards that i will get one at some point!! so that is something for everyone to look forward to and laugh at!! I am sure it will give you endless amounts of fun (Will and Dom it could be the tattoo i was discussing about in that pub in London with ...
Ko Phangan, Thailand michaelspikef... found myself flailing desperately in the water with a significantly obscured field of vision.
Eventually I did manage to right myself (although it took a series of undignified moves that even synchronised swimmers would be impressed by) and became totally overwhelmed by the World that had suddenly opened up below me. As multicoloured marine fish darted by I couldn’t help but exclaim “wow”, and promptly realised that opening my ...
... think? Gosh! or: Deb: What are you drawing? Napoleon: A liger. Deb: What's a liger? Napoleon: It's a mix between a lion and a tiger. Bred for its skills in magic. Anyway, I think I will enjoy my week here. I hope to go to the beach tomorrow (although it's now raining tonight, hopefully that will stop!) and do another yoga class, and find my beachfront bungalow, maybe even go running in the morning, something I haven't done since I left. Enjoy my pictures and be jealous!
Ko Tao, Thailand sarakmills... nearby bush! hahaha. Ben quickly slid the Centipedeout of our room and kindly went to collect my shoe. The indestructable Centipede was no longer a threat, it could no longer get into our bagsor into our beds at night :) We all went to bed feeling satisfied, humankind had won again, prooving itself to be the superior lifeform! Day Four: Day four was pretty uneventful during the day. Tom was still ill in bed until about 3pm when he final rose from his slumber.Chris ...
Ko Tao, Thailand cereal42... incident as I hit a patch of deep sand at the bottom of the steep access driveway and found myself, my bike and my books in the basket all strewn on the ground. Thankfully, I wasn't moving fast. Unfortunately, I wasn't alone and I embarassingly accepted my books that this girl, who was walking by, had picked up for me. I enjoyed a large Beer Chang and a spectacular sunset and chatted with my waiter, a Burmese immigrant. The island is populated mostly ...
Ko Tao, Thailand chiapoe... we were off. Shifting into second I noticed a sharp hump ahead followed by a tight bend that I had forgotten about. The combination of obstacles forced me to back off the gas a bit; I didn’t want to launch my wife off the back of the bike over the hump and my faith in worn, skinny tyres around corners at speed was negligible so as we began our ascent I had less momentum than I had anticipated; no matter – we should be OK.
‘Wow, it’s really ...
