Ko Lanta is rural Thailand at its finest - rice fields, outstanding mountaintop viewpoints, zero shops but plenty of roadside stalls offering fruit and veg grown in the trader's back yards. Tres authentic!

... we decided to spend a bit more money on a hotel again so we stayed in a fantastic 5 star resort right on the beach, it was absolutely amazing and it was empty! We saw about 6 other guests in total and had the pool and beach to ourselves the whole time pretty much.
