The long main street that ran parallel with the West Coast was lined with beach shacks or at best modest built bungalows. No sign of any 5 star resorts or anything resembling the ‘typical’ hotel here, this was laid back, hippy central where the amount of beach shacks outnumbered the amount of people and the dusty street omitting a low hum of mopeds to-ing and throwing.

... and be pet. It was so cute. Today was great to relax and not have much on the go. Dinner was a ginormous Greek chicken pita with an astronomical amount of Tadziki on it. Oh yeah, burped garlic all night. It was actually quite gross but tasted so good at the time ( plus a fantastic change from Thai food!). Giap, Justin and I watched Harry potter in the evening :) I just can't get enough of those ...
... cut to order, different kinds of cereals, fresh milk or yogurt a daily changing range of pastries and fresh bread with homemade tropical jams. There were all manner of cakes, Danish and croissants too- all made on the premises, the baker is really an artist! Fresh waffles, pancakes and French Toast made an appearance. There were also cold cuts of meat, different cheeses and smoked salmon available as well as an Asian breakfast selection including dim sum, congee and so ...
... chilled out place and food was fantastic but the flies! So many flies, just horrid. So ate up quickly (spicy squid glass noodle salad, massaman curry and Tom Yum goong) and fled back to paradise! Spent the afternoon in our villa, swapping between swimming and motoGP (and moto2 and moto3) and G&Ts. Beautiful sunset too. ... said Lanta is about as far away from a busy party island as you can get and has a very local feel about it despite the fact that the West coast is all beaches and tourist streets. The fact it is currently low season probably added to the quiet sedate local atmosphere.
Once sorted with somewhere to stay we headed down the beach to check out sunset. It took all of 30 yards before we stumbled across 'Freedom Bar' which had some big massive signs outside advertising ...
