Entering Phuket Island, whether it be by air, sea or land, is walking directly into a tourist trap. Taxi prices are astronomical compared to other parts of Thailand, prices are fixed and non-negotiable. Some are just plain illogical. For example; to get to our resort cost more than a trip twice the distance to Phuket town. ...

... water until we saw a man scooping several jellyfish out of the water to accompany the pile already dead on the beach. It obviously wasn't meant to be.

So we spent our short 2 days in Karon chilling around the pool and reading our books. We enjoyed some really nice meals along the main street and in one place I even managed to find a salad buffet (all you can eat) so I was in heaven.
