... plane to Phuket and landed an hour later - we even got a light meal of salad with dessert. I think the taxi to our accommodation took almost as long and cost almost as much (well a slight exaggeration). We checked in to our sea view bungalow and thought we'd walk along the shore but there was no access so we went to the main pool and spent the afternoon there. There is also a pool right ...

... quick look along the beach front and most of the Thai places were attached to hotels and still 3 times the price of Karon so we went back towards home. Some more jewellery shopping took place before dinner and with very hungry kids we didn't get too far and decided to go back to Papaya again for dinner. Sian is loving the Thai as much as we are and has started choosing our meals for us. After dinner it was straight home to bed for an earlyish night before the big boat trip tomorrow.

... to experience before. For example the majority of the enrichment structures in the cages we provide are fairly solid; they need to be so that they don’t break and so we don’t need to go into the cages to fix or replace them. But out in the real world where branches bounce and snap, vines swing and plants have thorns; the learning curve is steep for a young gibbon. Thankfully he only underestimated a branch once (that we saw) ...
