... during my stay here but they didn't have the same friendly feeling as "Perfect Dough" where Pat worked and to be honest the food for vegetarians isn't all that great here so most days I found myself back there for at least one meal a day. One evening Pat bought me a beer then shot back to the bar to make cocktails and came back with the left overs for me (ie she had made a bit too much to go in one glass) What a great place this is turning out to be. She had a 3 year old lad ...

... they’ve put down there. I’m falling in love with diving! Head to Lotus Bar in the evening, dance to the same tracks as every night and get an extremely sweaty hug from Frazer. One small skinny lad is throwing big crates of beer to his friend on the boat, who then throws it to his friend which they do with amazing speed and without busting a bead of moisture. Me and Phidel sit there sweating intensely, waiting for the boat to leave.

We soon cheer up ...

... Thai man behind the counter said he had only one single room for $10 that would be "good for" me. Finding this claim odd and wondering why it was so cheap (most rooms in Ko Samet are at least $20) he handed me the key and pointed to a tiny tiny shack right on the edge of the water. Despite the great location, this shack was more like a shoebox, in which your shoes would have plenty of room to lie down but not to stand up. And by shoes, I mean me.
