Historical Traveler Reviews Baan Bophut Beach Hotel

      Fantastic atmosphere

Stayed here with the family for our significant birthdays, (2 x 50th, 1 x 21st, 1 x 18th and 1 x 16th) . Wanted somewhere friendly and comfortable and this was recommended to us by some friends who had stayed there the year before. Very happy with everything, the views, the staff were very good and helpful, and the food was fresh and beautifully prepared. The rooms were also fantastic with possibly the most comfotable beds I have ever had in a hotel, anywhere. The staff were happy to recommend other eating establishments in the village, of which there were many within a very short walking distance. Had a great relaxing time, something for everyone within the village and its surrounds, but none of the usual Thai girly bars in the immediate vicinity although they are readily available in Chewang which is only a couple of miles away and easily reached by taxi should you want that.

      Fantastic and relaxing

Stayed at Baan Bophut over Christmas 2005 and also Christmas 2006 along with our 3 teenage children. The village is fabulous with lots of great restaurants and bars but not the "nightlife" that you can find in Chewang, which is only a couple of miles away if you want it. The rooms were large, comfortable and well maintained, we had a small problem with our water and it was sorted out immediately and courteously, which was very impressive. The beach is great and we had lots of lovely walks with the kids, the views being absolutely stunning.

The staff were very friendly and they also went that extra mile to make you feel welcome. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing break with good food and excellent surroundings.

Baan Bophut is ''the ultimate place to stay''. Everything, from the food,to the room and service, is magnificent. Well positioned ( beach front and center of the village)is the greatest place to spend a relaxing holiday. It was quite hard to drag myself out of the hotel even for a drink, since they offer a lovely and cosy beach bar where you could indulge yourself with excellent cocktails, while watching the sun go down! I would say it' s the best place i ever stayed and belive me when i say it,because i m very fussy.

What a lovely familly owned hotel by the beach. My room was very comfortable on the first floor with a balcony that gives you amasing views at sunset. I founded the staff very pleasant which make my stay very relaxing. The food is excellent from morning till night and what a place to enjoy a fresh fish and meat barbecue on the beach with your favorite cocktail in one hand.

I recomended it to anybody who want to have very relaxing or romantique holidays to visit the Baan Bophut hotel.

      Bellissimo !

      Baan Bophut - Ab Fab!!!!

We came here afer a horrendous night in the 'Sailing Club' near Lamai Beach... We could not wait to get out of there...

A friend of ours recommended Baan Bophut...

We got there at 7 in the morning, and they were so helpfull.

We got the room, nice and tidy, rightaway.

Showers are hot ( ooh bliss ..such a luxury after a rough night) Nice and big bathrooms, bedrooms are great too!!! We were on the groundfloor, which meant in the morning we only had to open up the door and we could walk straight onto the beach, into the sea. I do think that it was an extra comfortable stay because at a certain point of the week, we were the only guests!! They really take care of you.. I had the most lovely time at Baan Bophut!!!

      Baan Bophut Bliss

Our stay in Baan Bophut was fantastic. The 'boutique' style concept works brilliantly here. The rooms are lovely. Simple and incredibly comfortable! In fact getting out of that heavenly bed was sometimes a small challenge! The rooms are clean, cool and well decorated with dark furniture, crisp white bed linen and bright flashes of colour with plants and curtains.

When you do eventually rip yourself out of bed you see that....

      - the staff are friendly and hospitable

      - the restaurant food is great with a good blend of excellently cooked Thai and European food

      - the bar serves fantastic cocktails

      - the beach is great for a stroll

      - the pool is great with an infinity drop so you san sit back with your book!

Other great extras are the comfortable chairs on the balconies for a tad more privacy, the organised trips available from reception, the DVD/ book library and then of course Bophut which a great little 'village' with some great restaurants and bars. Very warm and friendly feeling to the place!

Definately my place of choice in Ko Samui!

A beautiful boutique hotel in an ideal location

Very comfortable, brand new (Jan 2006) boutique hotel in the quiet part of Bophut (and let's face it - none of Bophut is noisy!) right on the beach.........views to die for (see photo) Rooms are pure white with a very minimal look. Beds are big, beutiful and comfortable with lovely soft fluffy duvets. Bathrooms are wet rooms (no bath). Breakfasts have gorgeous croissants (frsh from the french bakery 3 or 4 doors away), fresh fruit etc. Cooked breakfasts at an additional price. The beach is very quiet almost private but has coarse sand and small gravel. Swimming isn't perfect 'coz the beach shelves very slowly. The tide goes out quite a long way. The staff are very helpful and friendly and most of them speak reasonable english.

      Love Baan Bophut

This was the second time I have stayed in Baan Bophut, which is in the quiet and relaxing fisherman's village, Ko Samui. The hotel has 5 star standards which are reflected in the overall interior decor, service, additional facilities and unbeatable menu selection in the in house restaurant. There is no portentousness to be found as in some hotels as this one is family owned and run; which generates an obvious personal touch shown to every guest.

To my recollection it is the only hotel on the strip with its own swimming pool and private beach area. When the weather is fine it is absolute paradise with a clear view of Ko Pang Yang across the water.

The hotel has great additional facilities including satellite TV in each room, selection of books and DVD's to choose at any time, free of charge. There is an in-house taxi service available and a restaurant serving international and local cuisine throughout the day and night.

      The best veiw ever!

This hotel provided the most relaxed and social holidat ever. The staff was great, and the other guest on the hotel was super freindly... The BBQ night created a relaxed and very social evening... I have been to Samui 3 times before and never had a better bed to sleep in.. Go and stay at Baan Bophut and watch the breathtaking view from you balcony and play backcammon in the garden on the grass..

Before long the tears started streaming down my face as we embraced. Just like that the chocolate community had gone up by three members and we were now one big squad. It's like that point in a movie when the music and the theme changes from okay to "no-one can touch me now; I got my peeps right here!" We spent a week ...

So far a total of 18hours spent travelling where we stopped at krabi. Again, trying to cut the stories short a little we had got through to Malaysian border to be greeted with a smiley feller that took our bags and we climbed on board his "car". I put car in inverted commas as that's ...

      Full Moon Beach and Shopping

A travel blog entry by joshtollman on Apr 08, 2014

Woke up and had breakfast at Nera's bakery. Had a croissant, banana shake and rye bread. We then walked back to the hotel to hire a jeep. The gear box was awful and couldn't even put it into second gear without it breaking so had to use taxis for the day. Got a taxi to the full moon beach (haad rin) and spent the day swimming ...

This explains why she is will be arriving a few days after we leave. She was behind Mike's decision and he has obviously shared with her his concerns. Apparently she will be teaching David how to use the computer and Mike says she isn't very patient. Would love to be a fly on the wall!

I've also ordered some vitamins that are high in very specific vitamins needed for healthy hair and skin. These are: vitamin A, vitamin B6 & B12, beta-carotene, biotin, vitamin C, calcium, vitamin D, inositol, iodine, iron, magnesium, niacin, pantothenic acid, selenium and zinc. I will keep you posted if these ...
