Excellent hotel, didn't expect such a good standard from Best Western if I'm honest, but it is a Plus type; breakfast was good, rooms lovely, beds comfy, staff friendly, and the wireless internet was excellent. Laundry was available downstairs too, $9 for a load including washing, drying, and detergent.

All the local pubs and restaurants were setting up and preparing for a big night as it's the first playoff game in the ice hockey tonight between the Ottawa Senators and the Montreal Canadiens. We decided to find a place to eat nice and early, to beat the rush, and we found a nice Sports Tavern & Eatery at 5:30pm. By 6:15pm the place was full of ...

We finished up by having the lunch special....much like Costco - hot dogs and a drink. Back on the road we drove the short distance to the parliament building. We could not find parking very close so we circled around until we found some open street parking, fed the meter and walked through downtown Ottawa to Parliament.
