B.W.Colonial Palms Motor Inn Airlie Beach

The great East Coast odyssey has begun! Rented a campervan in Cairns, which is due to be dropped off in Sydney (2500kms) in 28 days time. Juliet's arrived in Cairns, and we hit the road on Sunday afterrnoon. The van's great, got a really good price, and it comes with bedding, camping chairs, gas stove and all camping bits and bobs. But, it's not all sunshine and good fortune... Loads of the campers here have loud paintjobs, which I wanted to avoid. The place in Cairns ...

... we would happily let you get close enough so you could stroke him and he followed us for the rest of the dive, very cool. After the dive we got taking back to the boat were everyone else had been for a little while either jumping off the top deck or going down the water slide that was on the side of the boat. ... don't attack very often but all the safety talks scare you about them etc..... so the first night we saw 3 dingos near our tents.... it was funny... us girls would always go to pee together to keep a look-out!
The Irish girls were funny... they'd never camped and never pee'd outside.... they didn't drink much so thy wouldn't have to pee!
So a nice, fun night and we probably crashed out about midnight.....

Day 2 fraser island..... me and the boys were up at 6am ...

... heading thru unsafe passage between North and South Molle Island to Cid Harbour, a cove of Whitsunday Island for our first night on the sea.

We anchored beside “My Way” the most luxurious boat I’d ever seen. We noticed there was staff of at least four on this three storey super vessel. I was exhausted, it had been a long long day of instruction and I couldn’t focus or concentrate on anything other than getting to bed after dinner.

... The boat was called Spank Me and it was a sailing boat with the highest mast in the Marina over 36 metres. There was 16 people on the boat and 4 crew, so was a good number and lots of space. The sun was hot and we were underway.

There were all kind of different nationalities on the boat and made good frinds with most of the people over the three days ...

... to a spit near Hayman Island for some more snorkelling and this time we saw a turtle and to top it off, Aidan got some awesome photos! We also learnt the turtles here eat jellyfish to get high!

Once again we ate some more ...Nachos for afternoon snacks and then meat and salad for tea ...we are pretty sure the hosts were there just to feed us 24/7 and there was always seconds and even thirds!! We then chilled at Hayman Island and watched the sunset whilst ...

... Ein lang** Abend, d** dann um 2:15 tot müde im Camp** endete. Am Morgen wurden wir dann all**dings auch von uns**em Camp**platz v**scheucht, da um 11 Auscheckzeit ist. Schnell noch eine warme Dusche und dann runt** an den Strand, wo wir den Van am Tage kostenlos parken können. Gleich gehe ich zur Hauptstraße und w**de den Eintrag hi** v**schicken. ... and when we went around the corner all we could see were perfect white beaches and tourquoise water. We stayed up there for a while to have a look but it was too hot. We raced down the path to get into the water. Unfortunately we had to get into our sexy stinger suits first. Karl thought he was great in his suit (see pictures).
