March 31st set off from John& Claire's arrived Newhaven 5pm parked in docks found that there is a 4 hour delay due to the gales on Monday night so will stay in Dieppe Wednesday night. Went on to Oissel staying right by the river Seine for 2 nights to unwind quiet pitch just 2 vans moved ...
... did their shopping at the supermarche! You will have to ask them what they purchased there! After getting dressed up, we went to visit the Arc de Triomphe. We were lucky to see a special ceremony for the eternal flame under the arc. We then went to dinner on the Champs Élysées! The dinner included salad, canard with potatoes, and creme brûlée for dessert! Look up canard in English! I don't know if everyone cleaned their plate but they hopefully tried this ...
... stop the sun was shining, but it was bitterly cold. We were each wearing as many layers as we could without looking quite like Michelin men.
It took about 20 mins to get to the centre of Tours and cost 1.50e each return! Apparently you get 1 hours travel for 1.50. We thought this was for 1 journey.
Today was a simply gorgeous day in Tours. Sunny, breezy, a coolness in the air... After lunch at a green space along the river, the girls went on the the long-awaited "Chasse au trésor" in town - the scavenger hunt! As it turned out there was a wine tasting event happening, around 30 different vineyards
all displaying there wares, you bought a 4€ ticket, received an etched
wineglass and off you went for your two hour allotted time slot to quaff as
much wine as you could, well that is what they would ...
