... for our boat. I am actually pretty good at kayaking and could kayak for hours, but this was so hard and I think it was because we were having trouble paddling at the same time. When I'm paddling by myself it's a lot easier for me and I can go fast. Here we were just spinning in circles and it wasn't helping that it was HOT outside and our fellow classmates were laughing at us. Saturday was one of the most lovely days I think any of us can recall in a long while. We met at the train station at 9am and walked over to the Detours de Loire bicycle shoppe, where we rented bicycles and rode the 21 kilometers to Villandry to visit the beautiful 16th century castle and its gardens.

End of Week 2

... another short day at school, and some friends and I went to the Place Plumereau (pronounced "Plaas Plume-air-o). I had some pasta and a Swiss chocolate filled croissant. Delish!!!
Friday was the first hot day, and we were all thankful for it. The French turn off their heat in May, I think, and in the mornings, the classrooms were freezing! After lunch, we walked around town and down by the Loire. It was fabulous!
Oh and I took a test on Friday... more on that later. Or not.
