    ... I can get the bike up to a reasonable speed on the motorways.

    We had a good night in Rennes at a bar called La Grappe where the landlord, Laurent was very hospitable! Well we did run up a €196 tab after attempting to drink the cocktail list, Absinthe and a load of other daft drinks!!

    Cool misty start but sun soon warming us. Soon passed under railway viaduct. The Villaine is very pretty some steep rocky wooded banks and many small holiday cabins.     Beautiful clear but cool sunny morning. Set off North to Shop stop at La Plesne. We join the canalised Villaine river just north of Avessac and find a quite table for lunch. It is sunny with a pleasant cooling breeze. 4 pm finish by the Villaine. Lovely wooded but sunny spot right by the river.
