Light Within

... snuck away from morning service and boarded the public bus for one Euro fifty cents. I took the bus until a petite ville beckoned. I hopped off and had an adventure.
I stayed at Taize and led a contemplative life. Yet, if truth be told, I also snuck away, and discovered hidden treasures in the neighboring French countryside. Both kept me going. And the memories will keep me going.

The Ultimate Blog Post of All Time - part 3

... than I had expected - but apparently, after this coming Wednesday, the number of people they have registered drops from 3000ish to...eleven. I wish I could go back when it is quieter, and warmer, but it's only going to get colder, so I think I wil have to put that off until another trip, in the spring or summer. "I did miss having friends this week gone. Oh, I met a lot of people - even 3 actual ...

Cluny

We went to Cluny almost every day. It is 12km away from Taize. The best way to reach tere wes hiking. That was the first time in my life to do that. It is beatiful and typical French vilage. It is something between city and vilageand it has very rich history. There was a swiming pool, a supermarket, Caffee de Paris, and other things that we needed. But also it was very beautifull town, so sometimes we went there just to take a walk and hang around.

My Second Trip to Besancon, Oct. 2006

... up a conversation with a French couple that was sitting next to me. I was for some reason having problems with my French this particular day and my waitress knew from my accent that I was an English speaker so she gladly carried out my order with me in English, and this had grabbed the attention of this couple because both of them have traveled to the US and they were interested in practicing their English I believe as well, but I didn't ...

Weekend Trip to Nuit Saint George, Sep. 06

... my food over, she had to cross the street, and alot of times she had to wait for cars to go by or dodge them before coming over to bring everybody their food. After eatting at the restaurant (this was 2 hours later because they got very busy at lunch time and there were a lot of cars going by on the road) I decided to walk around and do some sight seeing. To be truthful, Nuit Saint George is a beautiful, sweet little village, but there isn't much to see ...

A Day Trip to Beune

... During this tasting I became friendly with some fellow foreign students studying in Dijon, but in a different program...one of them was from Canada and the other was from Spain. Since the three of us had something in common we continued the wine tasting together and not only discussed the wines we tasted but also about each other. After 2 hours of tasting many wines, it was time for me to go home. My new friends were going to meet up with another and ...

So basically, if you've the confidence and the courage, get out there, travel the world, and have adventures of your own. I promise it will be worth it. Thanks for reading =P

Lyon...one more time =P

... paragraph, w/the exception of Germany, I've finally finished the "big" European countries that I feel most obliged to see. After this trip, apart from some weekend trips to Germany and Amsterdam, I'm really going to put an emphasis on looking east. How often do you hear a family say "Yeah, we're going to Europe...we're staying in Croatia, Slovenia, and Slovakia, and we're stopping in Serbia for the kids." Yeah never. So there you have it, my last big trip in western europe. On y va!
