After coming back from Rennes we enjoyed dinner in the cockpit. Just in front of where we are moored there's a bandstand and in the evening around 30 or so people were old fashioned dancing until the late hours. it was really lovely to watch as it was people of all ages.
Friday we didn't do too much - mainly hung around the boat and completed chores. In the afternoon we ventured out for a while and found out it ...
... I write this it's 10 pm and the light finally fading, the sun finally set. The patrons at the restaurants over the river again are chatting and laughing and cutlery and crockery clinking. Last night a lady wandered about playing a violin, tonight there is recorded music from one of the restaurants. But the crowds are thinning, they are packing up and will soon go home to bed.
As Jonathan has just done and as now will I!
... were shutting but still managed to buy some seafood before the fish market closed. In the afternoon we went wandering around the town which was just lovely. There remains parts of the old town wall and ramparts, loads of half timbered houses etc. Just lovely.
... Gen decided to bring out the sewing machine (which we had bought at a boat jumble for £20) and finish the be-mini. It was just pleasant sitting back chilling.
The following morning we moved - not far just a couple of miles away and anchored in between oyster beds (much to the curiosity of locals as it wasn't an official anchorage). We were hoping to ...
... cycle around the Carnac alignments. The path led us through some lovely woods and passed lovely stone buildings / barns and cottages.
We also saw an ancient burial chamber dating back 4.500 years which was fully intact - amazing. Unfortunately unable to get good pictures of what is was like inside.
After our bike rides we wandered around the town and low and behold the fish market was still open - so we bought some more langustines and a lobster.
