It was all getting a bit eerie, it reminded me of the films Wrong Turn and Deliverance.

We eventually made it to the fuel, thank God. Reset the satnav only for it to tell me to go back the way we’d come – noooooo!. I double checked it on the maps on my phone. Yep, we had to go back. This village sat on a northerly route and our route was north east. The ...

... us with coffee and Danish pastry. Will smiles politely but has his first taste of French conversation so I have to translate - not a problem, he's trying to remember what he learned in school to have a stab at talking to Li-Li. The years come flooding back, the first time I tried with him in 1974 and it takes a dog's age. He's trying to tell him how you get the pear in a bottle of hooch, Will thinks the bottle bottom is false.Annie returns, another coffee and then back to the ...

We stopped at Pontivy for something to eat. Found this nice little restaurant on a square serving up a 'formule' - starter and main course for €11. Bring it on.
