... and other cereal crops I couldn't identify.
Patches of vines were everywhere - even a roundabout had a patch with a flower border right in the middle.

This rural setting was to be my home for the week, and while it was very appealing, it was made a little less appealing by being entirely spanned by a heat wave, which made the visits to the small pool at the gites so refreshing. The water was very clean, warm beyond all expectations, ...

We also decided to take out a canoe onto the Loire River and we got to see the Loire Valley itself from a different perspective. We also saw some cows on the river bank and the Winery that we had been to the day before.

We are not planning on going out tonight and will just have to see what tomorrow brings.

Once again we're having unusually nice weather. Last week it was cold & rainy. This afternoon we are sailing back to Paris... Some are touring Versailles & we will pick them up along the river somewhere. I'm enjoying my panoramic windows open and listening to the birds & ...
