We spent an afternoon in Le Mans and caught the train early in the morning to Tours. We connected to Lyon and from there to Bellegarde and on to Geneva and Lausanne. Darren missed the SNCF train announcement tune so much when he was in NZ that on his return to France, and upon hearing it a few times, he subconsiously whistled it a few times even after we got to Switzerland.

... lovely. The walk alone up the tree lined pathway to see the chateau in the distance was magical and breathtaking. Honestly this place is simply amazing. The chateau itself Is smaller than Chambord but more elegant and interesting inside filled with more wonderful furniture and tapestries and several original tiled floors. For me it's the outside of this place that is the real draw card. You could wander the grounds and gardens for a whole day or play hide and seek ...
