We also decided to take out a canoe onto the Loire River and we got to see the Loire Valley itself from a different perspective. We also saw some cows on the river bank and the Winery that we had been to the day before.
Overall I had a lovely stay in the Loire despite it being so very hot, now onto another region of France, Normandy. Bye for now, Clopsicorn
Alan not well. After breakfast - which was the best we've had this trip - we drive to Chenonceau on the Cher River. It really is an amazing place - a fairy tale castle and a bridge over the river. We walk through the gardens and explore the chateaux. ...
... Silly Emily for once drove us right up to the entrance to the aire, which is also by a river under trees so it is very wet everywhere. However, for 5 euros per night we have a level gravelly spot with electricity so may have the heating on shortly. We are not planning on going out tonight and will just have to see what tomorrow brings.
Interesting village where Van Gogh lived the last 70 days of his life & where he is buried. He painted 80 paintings & 100+ drawings during this time! Once again we're having unusually nice weather.
