Like Hannibal and his elephants we took it upon ourselves to traverse the mighty Alps in our trusty Citroen. Driving over the Col du Glandon on our way to the village of Le Bourg D'Oisains we arrived just as the weekly markets were about to open.

A tasty breakfast of brioche and grande cafe at the local boulangerie and we were set for shopping and cycling. A visit to the local cycle shop to enquire about climbing the Alpe was in order as conditions were terrible, pouring rain ...

Finally some sunshine, well at least a peek through the clouds every now and then. Ready to ride at 5.30am and the night clerk forgot to leave the key out for the shed. Another late start then I'm off to climb Col du Mollard.

In the hope of getting out of the bad weather of Les Deux Alpes, we headed for our next stop near Lac De Paladru, unfortunately we didn't, if anything the weather was worse with almost constant rain for the 2days we stayed, we were still recovering from our bugs so we again spent most of our time in the van..

We took a couple of walks out in between the showers so again not much to report here....

Just a pin in the map!

Of course, as I got closer to La Grave the weather turned back to cold and wet. There's something about that town! I was too close to stop and get rain gear on now though so I pressed on until I ...

... feeling great so we don't have much to report from here, we decided to leave after 3 nights as the weather was pretty bad and there was nothing in the forecast to say it was going to improve in the near future....

That is all, we did walk into the local village during a break in the rain so see the few pictures we took...
