Today we got up early for the slow drive to Italy. We packed up and then got in the car. On the way we stopped at a restaurant,on the side of the road. When we got there we went out for a walk. We found a nice restaurant, near the jousting. We had a really nice dinner. (Jousting is a game were they have two teams, and with a big poll, and a shield they have to try and knock the other player of the boat into the water). They have been doing it since ...

Long train day + San Sebastián

Fresh almond croissants for breakfast and some orange-strawberry juice. First class on the train is empty so we stretch out. We got to the border at about 2pm and lingered around the tiny train station as the train into town was 1.5 hours wait. We decided to get a taxi instead for 27e which was a good call. Our hotel is right on the beach and we like San Sebastián right ...

Today we went to a winery. We saw all the machinery that they used. We met a 91 year old women who still worked, and looked about seventy. She was really nice, and had a really nice house, that was built in 1398, it was owned by the monks. It had been in her family since the seventeenth century. We went underground to see millions of bottles of ...

    Day 24

A travel blog entry by owiedoeseurope on Oct 11, 2012

... until 13:30, so thought we would use their toilets and head off and do some other shopping. So I wandered into the shared toilet and pulled the door open, WHOA, a big white bum was staring right back at me, a small scream, from her, a mumbled apology, from me, and out I backed. Life lesson for one French local, always lock the dunny door. Mag was almost crying when I told her. We killed an hour wandering around and walked back to the Bar Du Vin. Got a lovely greeting from two of ...
