... quite a while in the cathedral....just amazing. It's hard to fathom just how old it is and how it was built. To think we climbed the same stairs that Thomas Becket once climbed. It's a huge place with enormously high ceilings. Then a short drive to board the ferry for the trip across the channel to France. We've lost an hour so it's become very late very quick.....but doesn't feel like it, still light at ...

... br> Soooo, today is our last day of sight seeing in Europe for tomorrow we embark on Le Shuttle for the UK. We decided to spend it in Boulogne-sur-Mer. It so happens that this town has a cathedral called the . . . wait for it . . . Notre Dame. Seems that veneration of Our Lady is rife in France. Everywhere has a Notre Dame. The cathedral’s claim to fame is that it was built by a priest who had no idea of architecture and the importance of theme i.e. gothic, renaissance, Romanesque ...

Despite having thunderstorms on Saturday night it was still nice and warm on Sunday. After a leisurely breakfast we went off to see other friends in Voorburg, Bryn and Joke Hunt. Bryn has just retired coincidently on the same day as Charlie May 1st.

... emotions. While we are all looking forward to seeing more of the UK, we have had an absolutely fabulous time here. We have loved the country, the countryside and the sights (not to mention the weather) and we have been made to feel very welcome here; they are so well set up for motorhomers. We will definitely be back - and next time plan to stay a lot longer than three weeks. We feel like we have only just had a taste of this beautiful country.

... get to see, and I've loved every minute of it, it's slightly depressing to think that the adventure is over, but it's not really it's just starting.

Next adventure is in Cyprus for the wedding and it's going to be a very busy time for us as we still have to sort out wedding papers, outfits, bridesmaid dresses, flowers etc.

I'll come back and tell you about the wedding.
