Today we spent a last day with Scott and Nhi. We went out to lunch for so traditional Vietnamese Pho. It is a wonderfully rich broth made with a lot of spices like star anise, cardomom, coriander, and cinnamon bark. It also has noodles and different kind of meats. I can't wait to ...

Almost 25 years later we are planning my dream trip through India. What was to be our honeymoon years ago is our adventure of today. Booked and confirmed the Delhi, Haridwar, Amritsar, Beas, Agra, Goa, Bombay, Poona, Bangalore sectors.

What is the purpose of your visit to the US?

... Obviously, they decided to let me go through but said that I had only 24 hours to get out of the US!

My passport is flagged and ANY travel I attempt that involves the US is going to be riddled with these kinds of ridiculous delays. In total, I spent three and a half hours in the Customs office and only had enough time to grab a sandwich and get to my gate before they were boarding the flight to Houston. ... And then she was gone. Mom left while I was checking out without even saying goodbye... *sob*

No, I'm kidding. She said a very brief goodbye, as the shuttle taking her to the airport was leaving and we didn't have time for more than that. It was probably better that way, honestly. We probably would have spent an hour saying goodbye if we were given the time (yes, I'm finally ready to admit that I inherited her gift for gab... *sigh*).
