... that the place could stay off the radar. Not only that but the town is chill, people from all over the world seem to hang out, I could spend months... maybe live here. The waves are pretty f*ing heavy. I´ll get some better pics/video when its not so blown out... Oh man, the wave got big a couple days after we got here, probly like 12-15 faces, heavy, but then backed down to around 6 foot, 8 on the big sets. We surfed that day, fun, but still pretty damn heavy.
Puerto ...
puerto escondido, Mexico flitterjahr... what would happen. The scorpion went nuts and then stabbed itself. Crazy. Kinda glad i didn't see it though, i like scorpions. Well thats about all that springs to mind at the moment. The surf is Flat but i went out with a mask today and theres loads of fish out there so i'm in the process of getting a spear gun to pass the time with. It would be good to catch a few for tea. Hope your all doing well and having a happy xmas so far :) xxx
puerto escondido, Mexico chalkTime to leave for Puerto Escondido! Got a lift to the highway from the owner then flagged down the 2nd class bus, which was full - had to stand in the aisle with all my luggage as no space, but managed to squeeze further down when the girl in the seat next to me started vomiting! About 1/2 way there I finally got a seat. Puerto is split into 2 main sections - in town proper there is the usual scruffy beach used by the fishermen and Mexican families and ...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico ccchrissie... empty... story of our trip. At about 6 I came to a horrible realization - I couldn't find my wallet! $250 and 2 of 3 credit cards - missing. (Those who know me are now either rolling their eyes or smiling knowingly - it had to happen). BUT - after tearing my luggage apart, I remembered where I left it - at a soda stand an hour outside of town, up the winding road through the mountains. We had stopped after the rain ended. The stand was wooden ...
Puerto Escondido, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico bocalee... blocks some of the insane waves coming in and is surrounded by cliffs of dense vegetation. The water is very warm and the sand is smooth. Most of the day was spent playing in the waves, treading water and trying to find new and creative ways of encountering them. The power and indifference of the sea were on display at every moment, and I felt like a kid being surrounded by such simple pleasures. There are interesting birds all over, and vegetation ranging from ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico traveese... the beach with the big waves. They have several other more managable beaches here for beginners. There has not been much noteworthy going on the last two weeks. I am again, resting to beat the band, but far more physically active here than I have been in months. I am swimming and walking quite a bit every day, and that feels really awesome. The water still has a little bit of coolness to it so you actually feel ...
Puerto Escondido, Pacific Coast, Mexico roamingjodi... would have after about 10 years but viva la difference! It was really a hassle of hellish proportions to get up the hill to the hotel from the beach but when you were there it was a nice place with an old Golden Retriever called Cinnamon (but it Spanish and I don't remember the word!), lots of brilliantly coloured Bouganvillia (man I cant spell for crapulence) and a bar and a pool. We did explore another 'quieter' beach full of children - which I thought was a contradiction ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico shanemilli... came through in flying colors. From my description of where it had to be, he took a dirt road that seemed to go nowhere and went on for miles. Then we found the very beach. It was then a deserted beach with two or three little houses and a lovely bay where I spent many an hour floating on my back, admiring the scenic location. It's much built up now, with a whole development along the beach where those 2 or 3 houses were. We couldn't quite tell whether it's completely ...
Puerto Escondido, Mexico spocream... as far as Panama, then flying to Columbia for a side trip before returning to Panama and leisurely driving back north. They stayed for about a week in Puerto Escondido and we became friends and will keep in touch by email and follow each other's travels. That's another of the great perks of traveling, especially by RV. You meet so many interesting people and can easily keep in ...
