So, I took some pictures.

And then he took me to see the body of Saint Francisco.

Yup, his actual body. I didn't take a picture of that. But wow! What an experience, huh?

We visited a few more markets (I bought a beautiful scarf for about $6 USD) and then went to pick up the rest of the family. Edgardo and his family (his wife and 3 children) took Ronja and I to ...
Puebla, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... away from me!

After the first group left, we talked about what had happened during the first 20 minutes and what we could have done better. We felt that we had started off too strong, playing such a difficult game right away. We decided to start the next session with a game: The "Go Bananas" game. This is a game that we first learned to play at the elementary school in Chino Valley.

We actually got some smiles! And laughs! It was so awesome!<br ...
Puebla, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... did this later year and it was so easy to do! Such little things save so much :)

As we are working on becoming a greener cast, I have a "go green" challenge for all of the readers :) I compiled a list from the environment presentation of different ways you can help save on energy and water consumption, reduce your trash and food waste, and cut back on your transportation needs. Try to incorporate one in each section and, once it becomes habitual, add one more each week ...

Veracruz, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico meluebke... I hated to leave the next morning but headed on down to ciudad de veracruz which is only about three hours away. With the address in hand the taxi driver headed north and ten minutes later I was there. It was a typical spanish looking yellow building with the house number 61 by the door. Erik and Linda, the owners, where there waiting on me before I could get out of the cab. After a brief introduction I was taken upstairs to my room. The rooms are ...
Veracruz, Mexico frostforest... Inside was marble & wood with gold accents and many paintings and statues of religious figures. It was absolutly beautiful, the cieling was atleast 3 stories high, this is just a guess, it was really high, i felt small inside. The service was in spanish, of course, and i am not Catholic, so i had very little idea what was going on, but it was very nice still, especially to see Lili ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... of our front seats shows this is standard practice for warning of roadworks happening in the middle of the road. Cones and flashing lights and warnings are obviosuly foreign here - at least one man is offering to take the hit for the team - i hope he gets danger money... Puebla itself . Mexicos 4th largest city is a lively colonial town. The roads feel like they should lead to the sea, with bright colours and balloons for sale (it is nowhere near the sea!).
Puebla - Road safety, Mexico lizzatwell... manage the doldrums?" After a near perfect entrance into Veracruz, someone managed to leave the jib reefing line in the water. Of course, it found its way to the prop and in the middle of our med-moor procedure, we had no power. The cheering crowds quit cheering as much. Frantic instructions were yelled out, a few of the youngsters hopped to, and soon the crisis was over. Then came the chiding from some of the other skippers ...
Veracruz, Mexico lavidanuevaBus picked us up at 8:30 am to go on tour. Were driven to downtown Veracruz and to Gran Café del Portal for breakfast. They still had their Christmas decorations in place. When I asked the guide about it he said they celebrate 3 Kings Day on Jan 6 and then leave the decorations up till La Candelaria on Feb 2. The restaurant is famous for their café au lait and it was delicious. After breakfast we walked around the downtown and zocalo until ...
Veracruz, Mexico dugnjulie... first day, I took a walking tour of the historic downtown area and explored the street markets around my hostel (within a 10-block radius downtown, there's enough to keep you busy for days). The next day, went to the Archeological Museum (amazing enough just for the architecture of the building and filled with an incredible collection of pre-hispanic art) and Coyoacan, to see Frida Kahlo's Blue House. My last day, to the art ...
