... where you could see the whole palaza, and we especially loved the Giants staircase. This staircase was where the Doge would be crowned, the staircase also had two huge sculpted people on each top point of it. After observing the square we went up the Golden staircase, now this staircase was amazing with the ceiling completely covered in paintings with golden frames. We then went throughout all of the incredible ...

It was easy to follow along in the service since we had a printed version of the mass in front of us that had the whole service (except for the homily) word for word. We will definitely come back to Venice, I think we both agreed that we wish we could have spent longer ...

... was meant to be really popular as well. Our next day was spent driving back down to Ancona to pick up Sim's kindle. On the way back we decided to stop at San Marino. It is its own Republic towards the east coast of Italy. It was on top of a rather large mountain that had an amazing view of the surrounding countryside as well. The castle and the fort was pretty cool to walk around. The next day we drove from Bologna to our last stop, Venice. We dropped the car of at the airport ...

... little fishing village with brightly coloured houses on picturesque canals. Life just seemed to slow down. There were trees and lawns and flowers and lace. The fact that it was another beautiful sunny day certainly helped. Next stop, Torcello! This island in the Venetian lagoon is strictly rural. Not a real town but a farming village with a gothic church and related buildings. ...
