      ... from the boat. For example they have emergency service boats trolling the water ( I assume like an Ambulance) and some fishermen have dogs that lounge on the bow of the boat. Also all the different gondolas have slightly different designs on the boats. That reminds me, we did take a gondola but we only paid 2'euros.       ... There was a special waiting area for preferential boarding but as 90% of the passengers are either elite of platinum, that accounts for most of us. In fact, the special waiting area was packed and the other area was empty!! After about 40 minutes our number was called and we filed through security, got the welcome photo out of the way and entered the Royal Princess.

      Once on board in the big atrium area we were told where the areas were that were serving food and how to get to our cabins. Our packs had already been delivered so I unpacked everything while Jim read all the welcome information.
