... the various exhibits there. They had his old cars on show, his outfits, videos of shows, but the most impressive of all, his two airplanes! One smaller one for his staff, which flew ahead of the larger one, Lisa Marie, which was for Elvis and friends. Getting to walk on this plane, and see how it was decorated inside was pretty amazing, and I never realised it was part of Graceland. The whole tour and exhibits were amazing and really exceeded my expectations ...

About 5 minutes after I pulled into the site, I was inundated with a swarm of hundreds upon hundreds of ladybugs, all over the outside of the MH and a few getting inside. ... I had the experience of standing on the spot where someone died and feeling in awe of what other people gave up for the rest of humanity - yesterday it was the balcony of the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King was shot, 20 years ago it was Austwich. In the National Civil Rights Muesuem, Memphis can be rightly proud of bringing to life the struggle of minorities and the suffering they experienced whilst questioning the truth behind who shot Martin Luther ...

Nashville bars and rock n' roll

A travel blog entry by chrisdamore500 on Jul 13, 2013

... get to visit the rock 'n roll museum, which was impressive. We stayed overnight near Louisville KY which in itself was about a 5 hour drive. We were welcomed with heavy rain and thunderstorms which had thankfully cleared up by the time we had set up camp. The next night proved to be the most entertaining and exciting night yet, the unmistakable Nashville, TN. The home of country music brought us bars, live music, neon signs and cowboys left, right ...
