... we determined is not a scenic drive heading out of SF, because the Bay Bridge has two level to it, and the bottom level, which is like driving through a tunnel, and NOT over a bridge, is the one heading OUT of the city. ... way higher, ...basically imagine walking up irregular stairs that had a layer of slippery dry sand on them for 2.5 hours straight up...great sculpted trails, but slippery. And the PEOPLE...there is a reason i normally dont do these popular trails...lots of people.... A word of advice, get away from these when you come here. Dont get me wrong we liked the trail and it was challenging, but it missed that extra, unique to us, kinda thing. Anyways, we went WAY ...
... and beaches. Now I've made it to California so, I need to start getting "Californicated" and what better way than on the beach.
... which is about what I get at home. Between all the meals ( rack of lamb for dinner, scrambled eggs and sausage for breakfast) and the Oscar movies, the time flew (no pun intended). We are now at HK airport awaiting our flight to Bali. If I have the energy when we get to our hotel I'll post again but more likely there will be a period of radio ...
Another beautiful day here in the Valley and we are off to Sonoma to see what we can find. Thanks to our friend Marianne from Hilton Head (who was just here a week before us) we have a hint on which are the best wineries to see.
Our first stop is in the town of Sonoma for a quick cup of coffee and a brioche and raspberry pastry at the Basque Boulangerie Cafe! Great place - you'll see it.
