... could have done the journey in a little over 39 hours and only 2,600 miles of driving. We took just a little longer than that and doubled the driving distance. It is such a good job the petrol is so cheap in the USA!
So we have achieved what we set out to do, but we still have a few days left before catching our flight back to the UK from Los Angeles. Maybe we should actually just travel back overland as flying really will be cheating a little?
... are spectacular and scary as hell. Just navigating the driveways would be a daily "hold your breath" event. But I am sure the view of the majestic Pacific Ocean is worth it. The rain started to ease around 1pm so we stopped at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park for our hike to the waterfall. It was past 9:30pm when I finally arrived at my stop, Carlsbad Village, with only a few minutes delay, caused by getting stuck behind a slow freight train (they have those in America, too). Angie and her bright Yellow car (at first sight almost mistaken for a taxi), were waiting for me in front of the station and after swinging by the liquor store for some wine we were home in minutes. Since I hadn't seen here in seven years, we had some catching up to do!

... to LA and we love it here . Think a lot of people from LA come up here for weekend.
The hotel we are in is fully booked for weekend (LA folk again ) but managed to book its sister hotel just up the road on the cliffs.
we both feel as if someone has pulled out our batteries ! Dont think we realised just how much we have done over past 2 weeks ! Are we not 21 anymore ?
