We are headed to Serbia today for the cheap tobacco. As usual we entered our destination into the GPS and set off. We weren't far from the border but passed through many rough, little towns on the way. One little shop in one of the little tons had gas bottles outside so we thought we would try our luck...success!! So with fresh new gas bottle in place (and the old one now under the table...) ...

... german inhabitants of the Vojvodina region. Before the war Gakovo had a population of ~3000. Marshall Tito and the partisans who were communists ran the camp.

At the Iron Cross we met two couples from Australia. Both of the men had been in the camp in Gakowa and their families had emigrated to Australia after escaping from the camp to Hungary.

We then took a short walk through the old German cemetery which is totally overrun with grass
and weeds ...
