... Minerva (pic 2). She is considered the symbol of Poitiers according to the short video I watched yesterday at the Tourist Center.

They had a section on photography which focused mostly on local photographers. I felt like it focused too much on the “miracle of photography” and didn’t care about whether the photo’s themselves were actually interesting. However, it could be that because I struggled to read the French I didn’t know they ...

I think it’s important that those who died in Oradour sur Glane never be forgotten. I want to be part of carrying that memory on, no matter how heavy it may be.

But we haven't seen anything to match the splendour of Limoges.
          Chauvigny is our next destination.
It was a chilly grey day in the medieval cite. The kids in France are on half term, but the castles and chateaux are closed. The donjon was tall, the chateau was intimidating and the castle was a ruin! ...

The sermons and sermonettes were encouraging and stimulating, and the fellowship was warm and unceasing. Since we all stayed in the same place and took our meals together there ...

... the little villages tend to slow you down a bit. After booking into our hotel we found a Laverie down the road and managed to complete all the laundry requirements. After we strolled around Poitiers for a while, mainly the shopping area, which is quite big and very clean. It was pleasant to walk without the hustle and bustle of the larger cities.

Picked up some supplies for lunch on the road tomorrow and back to the hotel for a hot shower and a reasonably early night.
