... for an ice cream. The ice cream was served in teacups and looked and tasted so delightful. From there we took a pedicab, a one person bicycle. This day was a lot of fun..As we left in the morning with the shuttle, there were two young girls with a scooter to rent and it was my full intend to go for a ride with them, unfortunately they were not there as we returned to. the ship. I would have loved to get into that traffic...:-) Thank goodness for sea days once in awhile.... We ...
... amusement. And yes, there is another toilet story to add to the repoitoire. This time, I had nothing to brace myself against, and stumbled slightly backwards. ... wander around by ourselves, we decided to split up and go our own ways shopping, again, so many shops. so many people!! We bought only a few items here, had no lunch here but when we met up, we had a sundae from McDonalds !! .
Time was up, head count done once again, our group all here, unlike some groups that were missing people!! Back through customs, back through check in and yes, straight to the bar!! After a full on day, we needed it!
Had a lazy day today staying around the Hotel Indigo. We walked down Zhongshan Lu and had lunch at Aijsen Ramen, one of our favourite Japanese restaurant chains. We then wandered back to the hotel and had afternoon tea sitting up in the restaurant area overlooking the harbour and Gulangyu Island, unfortunately not warm or nice enough to sit outside.
We took a 30 minute taxi ride out to the Jimei Educational Village, a suburb of Xiamen with a lovely university campus and more colonial buildings.
Came back to the harbour area of Xiamen and wandered down Zhonghsan Lu Walking Street and then took a detour through little market areas. Met a lovely Chinese girl and her brother at the Church, where a Chinese Christian wedding ceremony was just about to begin.
