    I managed to spot the mountains of Corsica then the weather really cleared as we crossed the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees; the good views continued and I saw the Eastenders map come to life as we flew over London. The sun was shining as we flew ...

    ... we were staying. The journey was great in that it gave us good views of quite a bit of Malta, and the temperature read-out at the front said 18C, so we were very happy! Our overriding impressions were of grand-looking houses interspersed with derelict ones, and fields separated by rubble walls or hedges of prickly pear.

    ... riding Dawes 531 carrying a mountain of luggage, they were camping carrying all there own gear. The exact opposite to the lightweight lads at the Holiday Inn last night who had a support carrying all their gear and were doing 100 miles a day. The father and son team were doing 40 to 60 .miles.
