After another delicious breakfast at our home away from home we did a little shopping then headed to the vaporetti and then onto the train to Bologna. A quick 1/2 hour ride and we were in Bologna. We stored our luggage at the station. There were two festivals going on in tow so there were lots of people on their square. They were celebrating their …

Public transportation in Italy is phenomenal. You really could live here without a car. We decided to take the FrecciaRossa (high speed) from Bologna to Bari. This train can travel along at 300 Km/hr. about 180 MPH. The trip took about 5 hours and was absolutely wonderful. The seats were very comfortable and there was ...

... walked about 40 minutes to get to the stop. The bus was not stopping at the main Piazza because they are setting up for a Chocolate Festival next week. I can only pray that the Chocolate Festival starts on Monday! We leave bologna on Tuesday. Here are Le Torri "gemelle" di Bologna. The two towers are the symbol of the city.

So it's time for a late lunch. The ...

Day 18, Saturday, May 30, 2015 - Florence to Bologna

In 2011, when we traveled to Italy, we visited Bologna briefly – without a plan to explore. And, we loved it – so we wanted to return. This time, however, with a plan.
