We had a beautiful warm summer day to do a 50 mile cruise down a section of the Hudson River. The Catskill Mountains were in our western view most of the way. We took on about 120 gallons of Valvtech Diesel about halfway. While swimming in the refreshing pool we met a nice couple on the Rainbow Connection from Coxackie NY. They brought us fresh made brownies and pleasant conversation after dinner. ...

Drove to FDR's home, museum and Presidential library. Along the way saw Bannerman's Castle. He was a munitions dealer in the 1940's. Drove through Sleep Hollow, NY but no Ickabod.

... feet issues and my ankle are needing a little rest......so it is off to sleep for us. Saturday, July 12 2014 Up before dawn! The air is cold.....loving it :). The terrain is better then yesterday, making for fast hiking.........which means I get to pick up my new Niteize headlamps soon - good motivation to hike faster. There were a lot of day hikers out, and a lot of questions asked.....which get a bit repetitive sometimes :/ . It also starts to take up a lot ...

... River by a dam. It's awesome how the lightest part of the canyon walls are at the bottom because of how high the lake was in the early 1990s. It makes it look like it has layers.I also really liked the Civil Rights Museum and Mount Rushmore because I learned a lot about the presidents and Martin Luther King Jr. and other Civil Rights important people.I think that our cross-country trip was really amazing and it's a trip I will never ...
