We are now moored up in Hemingford Grey where we used to live, ready for the Regatta later today. It is the oldest village regatta in the country and only residents of Hemingford Grey and Hemingford Abbots can take part in the rowing, canoeing or punt races. There are 170 - 180 races planned for all ages from 7 to 70, so it should be a great day, especially as the weather is playing it's part as well.

We were lucky enough to be just in time for the first free tour of the day (about 1 hr in duration) and the history of the church was very interesting as well as all it's architectural features.

It was great to see how much work he has done remodeling his entire home. Prior to this we had only seen pictures. Brian took us out for a nice lunch at a local pub. Cheltenham is such a pretty town it was great to have a ...

... songs and gathered around piles of bottles. My olfactory senses were assaulted with memories of college life on Sunday morning. Groups of female students were in various "costumes" from diapered babies to Oompa-Loompas. And then there were the more subdued students in jackets, ties, and Bermuda shorts, making their way in massive throngs to some end-of-year scholarly event. The Cambridge upper education system is alive and very well.

... Charles is an alumnae.Next we took a punting tour on the River Cam (really a small canal that runs through 7 of the colleges). This was the BEST. No walking, no work, just hanging out under a blanket while our funny tour guide gave us the run down and entertained the kids. AWESOME and beautiful.

At 5pm we decided not to brave the rush hour traffic and after a much need hot chocolate at Caffe Nero, tried out our new favorite app - ...
