    Today was our first (and only) day without cycling. After a late breakfast we set about the job of sight seeing in Ely. It is a lovely city with much to explore and we wiled away most of the day walking about the city and paying homage at Cromwell's House and also visiting the Ely museum.

    The weather forecast hadn't looked that favourable and as we read the front pages in the newsagent the previous day there seemed to be a day of reckoning coming. Of course this was overstated, but as we sat in the B&B eating our breakfast, the rain started to pour down to add to the high winds that had whipped-up overnight.

    We walked around the Cambridge Botanic Gardens which were pretty amazing. Glasshouses of exotic plants from different regions around the world with, of course, the traditional English gardens.

    So pretty impressed with Cambridge. We celebrated with our first ever Pym’s from a pub on the River Cam.
