    ... Island was also used as a Freedmen's Colony to provide safe haven for liberated slaves. Today, a local theatrical troupe performs the longest-running symphonic drama, every summer since 1937, titled "The Lost Colony". The park houses a large amphitheater with the Atlantic Ocean serving as the backdrop. The drama recreates how life may have been for the colonists, living among the Algonquins in the late 1500's.

    ... for Christmas. I know my mom and dad are sad I won't be here yet happy for Johnnie and me. Our plane leaves this afternoon and all is ready. I am awaiting Johnnie to return from work and my limousine. (It is really my mom and dad's truck but limousine sounded much more sophisticated.) We will soon be off to the airport for the next 2 days of flying. I know, we won't arrive in Cairns until December 21st! The time change is really going to mess with us. ...

    First stop Colonial Williamsburg, a historic town that reenacted the life in 1775 when the decision was being made for a revolution or to remain loyal to the British king. Bertie peanuts- great locally grown peanuts.
