... the interesting spaces created between the supporting timber and concrete piers. Apparently by Chicago standards the apartments are large, both in floor area and also due to the high ceilings, a legacy of the factory design that went with the original building. The building is located next the CBD and would be the equivalent of Carlton in Melbourne or Ultimo in Sydney in terms of proximity to the centre of ...
Another late night after our walk but we had eaten before the walk this time so did not have to find dinner at 9 o'clock. Chicago goes to sleep at night. Bill made sure that he went to the local, Jewish deli so we could eat the best bagels in the world--as per Oliver's request. We had ...
... it was confirmed later that some of the rail track had been washed away and was "suspended in the air" in a couple of the gorges! We had a brilliant bus driver and a luxury bus and apart from an hour of heavy rain during our 5 hour trip, we had lovely clear skies and could enjoy the spectacular scenery! So, we got to go right through the Rockies after all, but just not by train! We had lunch with Jill And Stefan, a lovely couple from Massachusetts, in Grand Junction ...
