... to Santa Barbara so that we could drive the entire Pacific Coast Highway tomorrow ending up in San Francisco. We thought it would have been a little easier to just find a hotel/motel on the way but the first 20 places I called were either way too expensive or already booked. It wasn’t until about 40 minutes past Santa Barbara (around 1:15am) that we found a cheap hotel in Lompoc, CA where we would sleep for a few hours before getting up to drive up the coast.
... Mouse and Goofy and generally thats all that mattered.
In the evening we were booked into a Motel in Pasadena. We went to eat at a new place that had opened over the road called Alfondo Hot Wings. The staff were lovely in there and they even brought Emma a free cake out for her Birthday! We had a fantastic day overall and Emma said she had one of the best Birthdays ever.
Last full day today and we are heading to Santa Monica.
After a 16 hour flight from Melbourne we arrived in LA. Phew!
The flight was good traveling on Qantas ..no issues except for sound through headphones only one ear thingo working.. Food great for airline food.Managed to get enough sleep.
Arrived in LA and preceded to our hotel which was Holiday Inn in the suburb of Hawthorne..30 Min's from the airport. The climate nearly exactly like Melb. Mid 20C Fresh at night.

... to get there, which was full of beautiful homes. The Center is an amazing place with a little tram that takes you up the hill to a very modern, yet lovely, building with the most incredible range of art contained in it. There is also a beautiful garden to be enjoyed.
